The success of Army missions depends on keeping the Bradley Fighting vehicle fleet in top working condition. As an integral member of the mechanical maintenance team, the Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer handles the maintenance and repair of the M2/M3, A2/A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and the M-7 Bradley Fighting Infantry Support Team.
Some of your duties as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer may include:
– Troubleshooting complex problems in diesel engines, electrical systems, steering systems, brake systems and suspension systems.
– Establishing and following schedules for maintaining vehicles
– Developing technical skills necessary to perform turret maintenance.
– Inspecting, servicing, lubricating, replacing, adjusting, testing, purging, repairing, and troubleshooting the systems and components of the M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
– Becoming familiar with safety requirements and knowledgeable of practices in performing vehicle maintenance.
– Knowledgeable on Bradley system hull electrical and engine troubleshooting skills applicable to all maintenance personnel.
– Maintaining the maintenance on the Bradley Engine and Transmission Assemblies
– Performing major assembly replacement, including the turret and fire control systems
– Diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions
– Performing organizational maintenance and on-board direct support tasks on the suspension systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, auxiliary power units, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, gas particulate systems and fire control systems
– Cleaning and lubricating gyroscopes, sights and other electro-optical fire control components
– Repairing and maintaining missile mounts, platforms and launch mechanisms
– Testing and adjusting weapons firing, guidance and launch systems
